一つは短期バケーション・ユニット（TVU）と呼ばれ、だれも住んでいない家（あるいはマンション）を一か月未満貸す場合です。もう一つはB&B（ベッド＆ブレックファスト）で、家にオーナーが住んでいて、最高二部屋、4人まで、自分の家の一部を貸すことができます。
TVUに関しては、ゾーニング（建築規制）が住宅であれば許可は出ません。出るのは、アパート、ビジネス、リゾート、多目的地域のみで、全部で4,000戸ほど許可するという構想です。B&Bに関しては、条件さえ満たしていれば、上限は設けません。
どちらもいろいろな要件がありますが、主なものは、ベッドルーム一部屋に駐車場が1台分なければならないという点です。
登録にかかる費用、税金、違反金
次に、固定資産税ですが、通常査定価値千ドルにつき$3.50ですが、TVUは$12.90、B&Bは$6.45に上がります。
登録費はTVUが$1,200でB&Bが$800、年間手数料はそれぞれ$500と$200です。
もう一つ大切なのが違反した場合で、1回目が$25,000、2回目が$50,000、3回目が$100,000、4回目からは差し押さえになる可能性もあり、無許可で儲けたお金はすべて市が取り上げることができるという、厳しいものです。今までの法律はちゃんと施行されていなかったわけですが、今度は違うという意図が窺えます。
